Coffee Time – Writing 101 – Day 10

Well I’ve got to day 10 and still going! In fact, I’m really enjoying myself. I haven’t done this sort of thing for quite some time. So the exercise today is about giving an update of where I am.

Firstly I need to say that my purpose, initially, for posting on my blog every day in Writing 101, was to rebuild the writing habit, to exercise my writing muscles, as I prepare to go for NaNoWriMo again this year. Well, so far, I have got back into the writing habit. In fact, I’m writing this post on my tablet as I’m away on holiday for a few days. So this may not get published until Sunday night, depends on available Internet connections, but that’s beside the point really. What it has proved to me is that the writing muscle is back. After a year of, so called, ‘Writer’s block’ my mojo seems to have returned and I’m, once again, enjoying the process. Long may it live!!

My blog has collected a few more followers, which is good to know that others want to read your ramblings, but one of the real big bonuses for me is that I’ve started to read some fabulous stuff on blogs that I might not have seen before; had they not ‘liked’ my posts, in turn. So I’ve got two things out of the project. What else can I discover?

I’ve also found that inspiration can be found anywhere you don’t have to search for it but you do have to recognise it. It’s all around us every day. Mine always comes from things I read, be that news stories, blog posts, books or poetry. Adding what I have read with who I am and my life experiences and that’s how it works, for me, anyway.

Another thing I have discovered is that I don’t need to be on my computer to write, this post is the proof of that. I can also use my phone and I’ve been amazed by the number of bloggers who use this method all the time. Personally, I find the keys a little small for my thick fingers but it seems to work for some.

So, all in all, I am pretty pleased with my first two weeks of Writing 101, bring on next week.

  1. Thanks for the little chat and catch-up.I enjoyed reading this as it is full of good news. How wonderful to get your writing mojo back, especially as NaNoWriMo will soon be upon us. I have only even posted one blog from my tablet which I found a little tricky, so well done you for having a go at it from your phone!
Hope the rest of your holiday goes well. :–)
